Epson Develops World’s First Paper Recycler To Make Clean White Paper Sheets In-Office

PaperLab

Seiko Epson is in preparation to sell the world’s first in-office paper recycler, one that can create new white paper sheets from old paper that is usually shredded, all that without the use of water.

The »PaperLab« is scheduled to go on sale next year. The PaperLab first shreds paper into tiny fibres using specially designed adhesives that bind them together, and balances the newly created sheets whiteness for that fresh, new look. The process is not the same as regular shredding as it can even remove colours from the paper fibres to create clean, white sheets.

The PaperLab is set to make 14 recycled sheets of paper per minute, and since all that will be done in the office there will be no need to transport used paper to recycling facilities, which will also help reduce CO2 emissions.

The PaperLab is designed for office use and measures 2.6 metres in width, 1.8 metres in height and 1.2 metres in depth, its price is yet to be determined.
